Perth County OPP Checking Snowmobilers

With the conditions of the local snowmobile trails improving, Perth County OPP officers conducted several static patrols Monday of heavily travelled snowmobile routes within the county.

40 snowmobiles and their riders were checked, and a number of warnings were issued for minor violations.

One operator was charged for operating his snowmobile without insurance.

Many of the rules governing motor vehicle drivers apply to snowmobile operators, such as speeding, failing to stop at a road crossing, and driving with a Blood Alcohol Concentration that exceeds the legal limit.
