BAA Curling Championships

The Grey Highlands Lions are Bluewater Athletic Association Girls Curling champions.

GHSS beat Owen Sound 9-2 to win the final.

The Lions beat Saugeen District Secondary School 6-5 to advance to the final at the Bluewater Curling Club. Owen Sound Collegiate Vocational Institute advanced to the final with a 9-1 win over Chesley District Community School.

In the B-Qualifier, Saugeen District defeated Chesley District 7-3 to and then downed OSCVI 9-4 to become the B qualifiers for CWOSSA.

The Lions and Royals will now represent Bluewater next week at CWOSSA in Brantford.

Chesley District Community School topped Saugeen District Secondary School 7-5 to win the BAA Boys Curling Championship.

CDSS beat St. Mary's High School 7-3 to advance to the final. SDSS topped  Grey Highlands Secondary School 9-7 to advance.

St. Mary's beat Grey Highlands in an extra end to advance to the B-Qualifier. The Royals topped the Mustangs 9-4 to win the chance to represent Bluewater at CWOSSA in Brantford.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
