West Hill Secondary Gets New Hi-Tech Equipment

West Hill Secondary School in Owen Sound has some hi-tech equipment with help from local businesses.

The school's Transportation Technology course now has a new diagnostic computer and the software. Teacher John Witkowski (wit cow skee) says the equipment is necessary to keep pace with the complex computerization in vehicles these days.

"There's a lot of the test equipment that you have to have for safety reasons. Without the information there's so much chance for personal injury and damage to very expensive components, it's absolutely a must," says Witkowski.

The new equipment cost $6,400. $3,300 came from local car dealerships that recognize the need for highly trained mechanics.
