Good Ideas Submitted To Saugeen Shores Canada 150th Committee

The committee planning Saugeen Shores' Canada 150th Celebration has received several suggestions on how they could mark the occasion.

Chamber of Commerce General Manager Joanne Robbins says ideas for the 2017 party include beach dances, theatre presentations, birthday trees, a Canadian concert, neighbourhood picnics, floral gardens, a Canadian Idol style contest, and a community quilt.

The theme is "past, present and future" and the committee would like to see more concepts that encourage people to give back to the country and leave a future legacy.

Suggestions could also recognize and promote exceptional people, places and events that shape our country, or build a deeper understanding of our country.

The deadline to submit your vision for the celebration is February 29, 2016.

You can find a submission form at saugeenshoreschamber.ca.
