CRA Scammers Busy In Stratford

With tax season approaching, scammers are stepping up their efforts in the Stratford area.

The Stratford Police Service received 16 reports from concerned citizens yesterday who received calls from someone claiming to be from Canada Revenue Agency.

The caller claims you owe back taxes, and often threatens legal action if the money is not paid immediately.

Stratford police ask citizens to ignore those calls, and if ever in doubt, to call the CRA directly to confirm your tax status.
