Cretier Case Returns To Goderich Court In March

A North Huron man has another date in court to face charges for a series of historical sexual assaults involving youth.

Martin Cretier, 71, appeared in court in Wingham yesterday and had another appearance scheduled in Goderich court March 14. He faces a number of charges including indecent assault, gross indecency, sexual assault, and sexual interference.

The latest charges involve alleged incidents that took place between 1976 and 2001 involving three victims aged 9 to 17.

Police allege the victims met the accused at the Wingham Hospital, or through the 1st Wingham Scout Troop.

So far, Huron County OPP say their investigation has identified ten victims and a total of 39 charges have been laid against the accused.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
