Wellington North Sets 2016 Budget

Wellington North has come up with a $15.2-million budget that will add 2.1 per cent, or $25, to the property taxes on an average single family home worth $227,000.

That increase goes up to $60 extra when county and school taxes are added in.

Mayor Andy Lennox told a budget open house Thursday that he is pleased that operating costs were held to a one percent increase, with the bulk of the spending -- $7 million dollars going to upgrade infrastructure.

The Wellington North budget will be up for final approval March 7th.
