Home4Good Calling All Bayfield Residents Next Week

Members of a group of seniors who work to help other seniors remain in the village of Bayfield will be focusing on transportation next Wednesday night.

Leslie Bella of the group Home4Good says their goal is to help people who can no longer drive, and they've already produced a booklet called Bayfield Without Wheels.  It outlines services and shops in the village that deliver, as well as where taxis and other forms of transportation are available.  It also lists community groups in Bayfield that will provide transportation to their events if required.

Next Wednesday evening, with the help of 18 volunteers, they will phone all of the residents of Bayfield to ask if they would use grocery delivery or a local bus service if that was available in Bayfield.

The answers to those questions will help them get either or both of those services set up.

The phone calls will be made between 6pm and 9pm in the evening on Wednesday, March 2.

Bella adds the calls will be made from the Virtual High School in Bayfield so the number on Call Display will be 416, indicating a Toronto number, but the call is not from Toronto.
