Teen Struck By Vehicle In Owen Sound

A 19-year-old woman has been taken to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Owen Sound.

The Owen Sound Police Service says just before 7pm on Saturday, a white 1998 Dodge truck that was traveling north on 3rd Ave. E, struck the woman when the vehicle made a left turn onto 8th St. E. The woman was walking south through a crosswalk when she was hit.

The woman has been taken to hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck, a 20-year-old Chatsworth area man, has been charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
