Bluewater Family Health Team Shares Expansion Plans

The Bluewater Area Family Health Team is launching the expansion project for their offices in Zurich at a community meeting tonight.

Administrative Lead Ann Brabender explains the expansion will double the size of their current office

They will expand out into the parking lot to provide space for a clinic consisting of 13 examination rooms as well as create extra space for residents.

The current office will then be renovated to create a program space for things like exercise and nutrition programs as well as smoking cessation and other preventative programs.

Brabender explains the Province has providing funding of just under $1.5-million so they're going to have to raise about $600,000 in the community.

Tonight's meeting starts at 7pm at the Bluewater Area Family Health Team office in Zurich and the architect and interior designer will be on hand to answer questions.

Brabender says they hope to start construction on the new clinic in April and have that competed by November and then have the current office renovated by the end of April, 2017.
