North Huron Committee To Review Policing

North Huron Council has approved the establishment of a policing advisory committee to conduct a policing review.

The committee will look at an OPP costing proposal covering the entire municipality.

It will also consider the price to extend the current Wingham Police Service to the Wards of Blyth and East Wawanosh.

The committee's first order of business will be developing terms of reference.

Council's service delivery review last year identified policing as a review priority.

A standalone police force in Wingham has been a sticking point in any previous discussions regarding a county-wide police contract for Huron.
