UPDATE: Police ID Driver In Fatal Collision Near Collingwood

Ontario Provincial Police have identified the driver of a pick-up truck killed in a collision Thursday evening near Collingwood.

Troy Scott, 17, of Clearview Township was driving west on Mountain Rd., just west of the Tenth Line when his truck crossed the centre line colliding with a full sized Prevost Passenger Bus.

Simcoe County paramedics, OPP officers, and members of the Collingwood fire department responded to the collision around 6:30pm.

Scott was pronounced dead at the scene while his passenger was extricated by firefighters and rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries.

He was later transferred to a hospital in Toronto where his condition remains unknown at this time.

The road was reopened this morning around 6am.

Police continue their investigation into the fatal crash.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
