Some Local Jobseekers Find Success In February

Unlike the national and provincial unemployment rates, which both went up in February, the Stratford-to-Bruce Peninsula region saw slight decrease.

The jobless rate went from 5.7% to 5.6%.

Local employment saw a net gain of 500 jobs in both full-time and part-time between January and February.  The highest gains were in educational services, health care and social assistance.

The Four County Labour Market Planning Board is reporting an upward trend of full-time employment since November 2015.
