Perth Wellington's MP Submits Pre-budget Report

Perth Wellington MP John Nater has submitted a pre-budget report to the Minister of Finance, Bill Morneau, saying residents are very concerned about overspending.

Nater says he has heard tax-payers are greatly troubled by the magnitude of proposed deficits.

However, Nater says constituents also point to an urgent need for infrastructure funding in rural areas and small towns that can not be over-stated.

Nater says local municipal representatives fear that the funding will be concentrated in larger urban centres, instead of providing support for municipalities to meet critical needs.

He adds that he also heard about the need for federal funding for skills training and employment grants.

He says there's a call to freeze business and payroll taxes.

Nater consulted with agricultural groups, charities, economic and business organizations and service clubs earlier this year.
