Walkerton Presents 2016 Official Plan

Brockton Council got a look at the 2016 Official Community Plan for Walkerton at Monday night's Council meeting.

Brockton Senior Planner David Smith made the presentation, something he says is mandatory every 5 years under the Ontario Planning Act.

"That review is to see where you're standing; are you growing, are you getting smaller, are you're policies keeping in touch with those particular types of changes. Sometimes it's just a matter of taking a look at it and saying yeah we're still good," says Smith.

Smith adds that the plan includes a number of focal points including strengthening Historic Walkerton and the protection and enhancement of Walkerton's landscape and heritage.

An online survey will also be made available to the public for input.

An Open House is scheduled to take place on April 7th, 2016 at 7pm at the Walkerton Fire Hall.

A second Open House is planned for a later time, date to be determined.
