High Winds Cause Damage In Minto

High winds last night caused some damage in the Town of Minto.

There was minor damage done to a farmhouse and barn, grain bins and sheds wrecked, silo roof blown away and a car parked at the farmhouse damaged.

There is also some damage to a property in West Grey. Minto Mayor George Bridge has been briefed on the situation, and cleanup is underway. Environment Canada is coming to do an assessment of the damage.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
