Firefighters and EMS were dispatched to a residence the 800-block of 11th Ave. E, just before 4pm.
A small fire in the basement of the residence was quickly put out. The lone occupant got out without injury.
An unattended candle is listed as the cause of the fire, which caused minimal damage.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
