20 Delegations Scheduled For Bluewater Board Meeting

The fate of the Bluewater District School Board's Owen Sound group of schools is up for discussion tonight.

A special meeting will hear comments from the public on accommodation review recommendations.

Board staff's preliminary recommendations are to have all high school students in Owen Sound go to West Hill Secondary School. OSCVI would no longer be a high school.  It would accommodate kindergarten to Grade 8 students. Sydenham, Bayview, Dufferin and Derby elementary schools would close.

Director of Education Steve Blake says there are 20 delegations officially on the meeting agenda.

The meeting tonight is at the Bluewater Board offices in Chesley starting at 7pm.

Trustees are to make final decisions April 19 on the fate of the Owen Sound schools.
