Downtown Hanover Getting Farmers Market

An outdoor farmers market will soon be a reality in downtown Hanover.

Hanover's Economic Development Coordinator Savanna Schaus says the demand is there and they're excited to bring the 'Eat Well Market' to Hanover:

"We have had this on our strategic agenda since 2009, it was in our business retention expansion, it was in our strategic plan for the town, it's a great tourism draw, it's a great thing for our downtown to bring people and it's something that we've wanted since 2009 so for it to happen now is just a dream come true," says Schaus.

Council was also completely on board with the idea, giving their approval.

"I think it's going to be very interesting to see an expansion over the next couple of years of how it's going to grow, because I think it's going to be a massively successful enterprise," says Councillor Steve Fitzsimmons.

The Farmers Market, also called the Eat Well Market, will run on Fridays in Heritage Square from noon to 4pm starting June 3, and wrap up for the season on October 7, Thanksgiving weekend.
