Local Travel Advisory For Wednesday Night And Thursday

The start of the Easter weekend could be slippery and snowy in Midwestern Ontario.

Freezing rain and winter storm warnings are in effect for different parts of the region.

A winter mix of precipitation is expected over a lengthy periods of time, starting this afternoon and this evening with freezing rain and ice pellets.

Areas of northern Bruce and Grey counties could experience more snow than freezing rain, with total accumulations of up to 10 cm.

The heavy snow and freezing rain has the potential to cause power outages due to the weight on tree limbs. Roadways, sidewalks and parking lots will be slippery and hazardous.

The freezing rain warning covers Huron, Perth, Wellington, southern Bruce and southern Grey counties.   The winter storm warning is for northern Bruce and Grey counties.

The stormy weather will move eastward by Thursday evening.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
