Siskins Advance with OT Win

Brett Schaefer scored the game winner in overtime as the Waterloo Siskins beat Kitchener 4-3 to advance to the Conference Championships.

Waterloo won the series in five games.

Kitchener held the lead for most of the game, until Lucas Goodman scored with less than five minutes left in the third to force overtime.

The Dutchmen were up 2-0 after the first and 3-2 after the second only to lose in overtime.

Mitchell Datz earned the win with 31 saves for the Siskins. Cossimo Lazzarino faced 50 shots in the loss.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
