High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

West Hill Secondary School in Owen Sound is holding a dress and suit drive to help Grade 8 grads, and prom participants.
You can donate previously worn prom or formal dress wear to the guidance office until April 21. Donations of suits, shoes, dress shirts, ties, accessories and cash are also welcome.
The formal wear will be available to Grade 8 students and high school students looking for a good deal on April 21.
Students can shop in room 3111 and in the drama room between 2:15pm and 5pm
Guidance Counsellor Kelly Wilkins says shoppers can pay what they are able to afford in the form of a donation.
Funds raised will help support Grade 8 students getting ready for graduation.
