High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

<div>Collingwood OPP helped a resident save an elderly man who had slipped into the water.</div>

<div>OPP say the 85-year-old man was walking along a path at the Lighthouse Point Condominium Complex about 6:30 yesterday morning when he slipped down about five feet into the water.</div>

<div>Another resident heard the call for help, and held the victim above water while dialing 911 for help.</div>

<div>Police arrived and helped lift the man out of the water.</div>
<div></div>
<div>He was taken to the local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.</div></p>
