Knife Wielding Man In Owen Sound

A knife wielding man faces charges in Owen Sound.

Police responded to a call from a west side apartment building shortly after 1am Thursday morning. They were following up on complaints of a man shouting, throwing knives and damaging vehicles.

The 39-year-old suspect was was safely disarmed and arrested without incident or injury.

The Owen Sound resident, who appeared to be in crisis, was taken to hospital.

Police found tires were slashed on two random vehicles and eight kitchen knives were found nearby.

Investigators say it was an isolated incident.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
