Goderich Township De-amalgamation Petition Stalled

The Huron-Perth Landowner's Association is still waiting for a response to its request that Goderich Township be allowed to de-amalgamate from Central Huron.

Association spokesperson Cindy Moyer explains their Petition of Right was presented to the Attorney-General in the Ontario Legislature in November of 2014, but they have since taken it to the next level.

Moyer says they have presented their case to the Federal Governor General, and are waiting for a response.

She adds the petition is signed by 70 per cent of Goderich Township residents, who want to de-amalgamate from Central Huron.

Moyer adds, as far as she knows, it's back in the hands of the Provincial government.
