Integrity Commissioner Ruling For Southgate

An integrity commissioner has thrown out three complaints against members of Southgate council.

One involved Deputy Mayor Norm Jack using the word “trot” to describe how Mayor Anna Marie Fosbrooke walked. A second leveled against Jack charged that the deputy mayor was harassing the mayor by suggesting she may as well “go out the door” if she refused to follow the wishes of council. And the third against Councillor John Woodbury for asking the Mayor and Councillor Christine Gordon if they had completed some work relating to the CAO’s annual performance review.

Integrity Commissioner Harold Elston of Collingwood ruled that none of the three complaints amounted to a violation of Southgate council’s Code of Conduct.
