Wingham Church Addition Gets Green Light

The Maitland River Community Church in Wingham has received council's approval for a major renovation.

North Huron Council approved the plans that will see a new 697-square-metre addition to the church located on Josephine Street.

Laura Young, Planner for North Huron, says there are still a few logistics to take care of before work begins. "There still needs to be the final approval by the Chief Building Official to issue the building permit but the site plan has been approved and that concerns anything with the proposed site layout as well as any concerns for storm water management," says Young.

The addition will include multi-purpose rooms, a new auditorium, a fellowship hall and a complete face-lift of the building exterior.

Once completed, the Maitland River Community Church will more than double in size.
