Body Pulled From Water Identified

Saugeen Shores police are confirming a body found by hikers on the Lake Huron shoreline at MacGregor Point Provincial Park is that of a missing Toronto man.

Police say Peter James "Jim" Armstrong went missing from his mother's Southampton home the evening of March 9. Over the following weeks, the OPP Emergency Response Team, the Saugeen Shores Police Service, and Saugeen Shores Fire Service conducted an extensive search that included officers on the ground, K-9, unmanned drone, helicopter and a boat with sonar.

A body was found around 1:30pm Monday by hikers. An autopsy was done in London and the remains were identified as Armstrong.

Police say no foul play is suspected. Coroner officials are still waiting for toxicology results before determining a cause of death.
