Harriston Neighbourhood Uneasy About Monster Truck Rides

Some Harriston residents are not happy that their neighbour wants to run a monster truck on his property at the north end of town.

Murray Marquardt says he is only planning on offering rides for children as an attraction at his take-out food business, and not a big noisy monster truck competition.

But the neighbours told a public meeting they think it is the beginning of something that will grow to become a noisy, dusty event.

Minto council will decide at its meeting in two weeks whether to lease six acres of municipal land to Marquardt for the attraction.
