Bruce Grey MP Wants Your Views On Assisted Death

Bruce Grey Owen Sound MP Larry Miller says his vote on assisted death will reflect the majority his constituents wishes.

He wants to hear from residents so he is confident his vote accurately represents the views of constituents. Miller worries the legislation doesn't provide enough safeguards to protect vulnerable persons, such as children, or those not in an appropriate mental state.

Miller says he's not convinced there are protections for healthcare professionals who do not want to administer something they don't believe in.

He says he's disappointed the government moved to limit debate Wednesday after only 21 hours of discussion and the bill is one of the biggest moral issues to come before Parliament, and limiting debate is unacceptable.

He adds he wants to hear a more extensive explanation on how the legislation will translate in the creation of the regulatory framework.
