Dog Trapped In Culvert Near Flesherton

Grey County OPP were called to rescue a barking dog trapped inside culvert.

The OPP arrived on the scene on Hwy. 10 north of Flesherton about 2:15pm Tuesday afternoon.

The German Shepherd cross had moved 100 ft into the culvert to a storm sewer grate blocking the far end, and it was unable to turn around.

The Grey Highlands Fire Department was called to remove the sewer grate and coax the dog to safety with treats.

She was reunited with her family, who had been looking for her.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
