Owen Sound Concert and Dance Saturday For Fort McMurray Residents

A concert and dance this weekend in Owen Sound has become a fundraiser for the residents of Fort McMurray.

The event at Heartwood Hall on Saturday evening is sponsored by Bruce Grey Owen Sound Federal Liberals.

Meghan Lipka, Executive Vice President of the local Liberal group, came up with the idea of directing the profits from the previously planned dance to the local Red Cross. All donations to the Red Cross will be matched by the federal government.

The concert and dance features the Dundalk-based seven piece band Midnight Special. They specialize in the hits from the 60's and 70's. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show starts at 8:30.

The $15 tickets are available at Heartwood Hall, 2nd Avenue East Owen Sound or by e-mailing bgosevents@gmail.com.
