Motorist Arrested After Brief Police Pursuit

Police caught up with a man wanted on outstanding warrants, after a motorist sped away from a traffic stop in Grey County.
Police pulled over a vehicle associated with a wanted man, Saturday evening on Highway 26 near the 7th line of Meaford.
However, the vehicle barely stopped, before speeding off eastbound, with police in pursuit.
The cruiser called off the chase as the vehicle entered the town of Meaford.  It was found abandoned in the ditch near Ridge Rd.
Witnesses helped police track down a suspect.
A 19 year old Meaford man is charged with take a motor vehicle without consent, flight from police, dangerous driving, and driving under suspension.
  He was turned over to Owen Sound police on other outstanding warrants.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
