Mitchell Luring Incident Prompts Report Of Man Offering Girl A Ride In London

Perth County OPP say reports of a stranger making up a story to lure a Mitchell teen into his car, resulted in a tip that a similar incident occurred in East London.

Police say a motorist was observed offering a ride to a young female on Dundas St. near Veterans Memorial Pkwy. about 4:30pm on Monday.

Police are hoping the young female can come forward to help with the investigation.

A girl in Mitchell was approached by a man who claimed her father had told him to give her a ride to school about 8:20am Friday, and he followed her when she refused.

The man was Caucasian, about 35 years old, with black curly poufy hair, and wrap around sunglasses, driving an older model four door black car with a silver stripe and tinted windows.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
