Rates Set For New Daycare Centre In Listowel

The Municipality of North Perth has established rates for infant child care at the new North Perth-Spinrite Child and Family Centre.

Clerk Patricia Berfelz says the rates are competitive.

"We've never had infants before so we have a new infant care room and we had to establish a rate. We went out and did some investigation with our neighbours and done a potential budget," says Berfelz.

The rate for an infant has been accepted at $45 per day per child, but according to Berfelz that could change down the road depending on how things are going.

"We've got the last quarter of the year to get an idea of how it's running and then we may have to come back to council and just revisit the rates depending on how it all turns out but we've done our research and we've got our preliminary budget and we're hoping it all falls into place," adds Berfelz.

The new North Perth-Spinrite Child and Family Centre will be part of the new Avon-Maitland Elementary School being built on Binning St. in Listowel and slated to open September 6, 2016.
