Wingham Crash Victim Dies In Hospital

A 28-year-old man has succumbed to his injuries after a rollover crash near Bluevale.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on May 6 around 7:10am, Chevrolet Cobalt was travelling east on Harriston Rd. when the driver lost control while exiting a curve in the roadway. The vehicle left the road, rolled and crashed into the south ditch east of C Line Rd.

Jason Simmons, 28, of Wingham was rushed to a local hospital and then airlifted to a London hospital with life threatening injuries. On Tuesday, he died in hospital as a result of his injuries.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
