New Hanover School Plans Moving Forward

Plans for a new John Diefenbaker Senior School in Hanover are in the preliminary design phase.

Board staff and architects from the Ventin Group will submit a proposed building design in September for approval from the Ministry of Education.

The province's School Consolidation Capital Program will fund the planned new Grade 7 - 12 school.

Preparation of the building site on 18th Ave. in Hanover will start this fall, and the new school should open by September 2018.

Board staff are continuing to engage in discussions with potential community partners interested in using space in the new schools.

“The John Diefenbaker Senior School community of students, staff and parents is eager and excited to get the shovels in the ground this fall," says Superintendent of Education Alana Murray. “We are all looking forward to the new school opening in September 2018.”
