Suspect Arrested After An ATV Stolen Near St. Marys

A St. Marys-area homeowner called police when he heard his all terrain vehicle being driven away.

Officers attended the rural farmhouse on Line 16 North shortly before midnight on Tuesday. The ATV had been parked behind the house with the keys in the ignition.

The owner lost sight of his machine when it turned north on Perth Rd. 130.

Just before 3am, a homeowner south of St. Pauls was awakened when a female on an ATV showed up asking for directions to Stratford. He followed the ATV, but lost sight of it near the St. Pauls community centre, and then called police.

Stratford police were notified and found the machine near O'Loane Ave and Lorne Ave.

A 39-year-old woman was arrested and charged for possessing property obtained by crime.

The owner has his ATV back, and police are re-iterating the importance of parking vehicle in secure locations, and removing the keys.
