Owen Sound Police Constable Receives Hero Of The Year Award

Owen Sound Police Constable Patrick Rawn has received one of the first ever Police Association of Ontario Hero of the Year Awards.

Rawn was called to the scene of a huge fire in a housing complex in Owen Sound in August 10 of last year.

The association recognized his bravery for single-handedly saving ten families from the flames.

Constable Phil Sheldon of Niagara Regional Police and Hamilton Special Constable Sharon Williamson were also honoured at a ceremony in Toronto this week.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
