Southgate Hears Presentation On Municipal Pipelines Guarantee

Southgate council has heard from a company that wants to guarantee water and sewer pipes in homes that are connected to municipal services.

Jeffrey Olson of Service Line Warranties of Canada says for $120 a year his company will fix sewer and water pipes between the road and the house, including pipes that are frozen, clogged with roots, rotted or rusted .

It does not apply to residences with private water and sewer.

Olson says several other area municipalities have already endorsed the plan - including Meaford, Saugeen Shores, South Bruce Peninsula and Grey Highlands.
