Four Units Destroyed In Mount Forest Apartment Fire

Several apartment units have been destroyed following a structure fire in Mount Forest.

The Ontario Provincial Police say say on Sunday around 11am, firefighters responded to the building on Queen St. The building is a single level, ten-unit apartment complex. Four of those units were destroyed by the blaze.

Queen St. between Main St. and Parkside St. was closed while firefighters battled the blaze. The road has since been reopened.

A firefighter was taken to a local hospital as a precaution following the fire. He has since been discharged.

The cause of the fire and damage estimate are unknown at this time.

Police say the Office of the Fire Marshall has been contacted and will be attending the scene to investigate.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
