Air Quality Could Deteriorate Today in Midwestern Ontario

Hot and sunny weather conditions could lead to deteriorating air quality today.

Environment Canada has issued a Special air quality statement for Southern Bruce, Huron, Perth and Grey Counties today.

We could see increasing ground level ozone concentrations this afternoon, with moderate risk air quality values expected today, with the potential for high risk values this afternoon.

People may experience symptoms such as coughing, throat irritation, headaches and shortness of breath.

Children, seniors and those with cardiovascular or lung disease, such as asthma are especially at risk.

Environment Canada suggests people experiencing symptoms, or those at risk, should reduce or reschedule strenuous outdoor activities until the air quality improves.

Visit www.airhealth .ca for information on how to reduce your health risk and your personal contribution to pollution levels, as well as for current and forecast AQHI values.
