Fire Destroys St. Mary's Rectory At Cape Croker First Nation

A fire that has destroyed the rectory beside St Mary's Catholic Church at Croker First Nation has been deemed suspicious.

Bruce Peninsula OPP say emergency crews were called about 2am on Friday to find St. Mary's Rectory on Lighthouse Rd. fully engulfed in flames.

Damage is estimated at about $250,000.

The Ontario Fire Marshal's Office has been called to the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding the fire is asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122 to report. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
