Stratford Open House Reviews Updated Market Square Design

An Open House at Stratford City Hall will look at the redevelopment of Market Square.

Participants will learn some background and see a revised draft conceptual design

The space behind city hall is surrounded by heritage main street facades in the historic city centre.

The former market place is now a bus terminal,

A $1.25 Million from Walmart, $250,000. from Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Funding, and $55,000. from the Regional Tourism Organization will help revitalize the area to promote tourism, heritage and local business.

The GSP Group's architectural design was one of three proposals submitted in a request form Proposals.

It was revised following some public sessions.

Council will consider the new design on June 13.

The session runs from 6pm to 8pm Wednesday June 1 at the city hall auditorium on Wellington Street.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
