Rifles Stolen In Break-in Near Clinton

Two rifles and ammunition have been stolen in a break-in at a farm west of Clinton.

Huron OPP believe the break-in occurred between 10:30 last Friday night and 7:30 Saturday morning at a farm on Stone School Line.

A thief entered into an unlocked detached garage and forced open a locked cabinet containing two rifles. The bolts had been removed from the rifles, but the thief located the bolts and a box of ammunition.

Stolen items included an older model Cooey .22 calibre single shot rifle, with a dark wood stock and a black and blue barrel. An older model Sport .22 calibre single shot rifle, with a white and brown wood stock was also taken, along with a yellow plastic box that contained a small amount of .22 calibre ammunition.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Huron OPP or Crime Stoppers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
