Four Options Offered In Survey To Name New Owen Sound School

A survey to allow residents to name a new high school in Owen Sound has been shortlisted to four options.

Owen Sound Collegiate and Vocational Institute students will join students at West Hill Secondary this fall.

The Bluewater District School Board has decided to close OSCVI and renovate it into an elementary school.

The name options are Owen Sound Collegiate, Owen Sound District Secondary School, Owen Sound High School or Owen Sound Secondary School.

The survey also asked for school colour suggestions.

You can find in through the school board website at http://www.bwdsb.on.ca/

You can make your pick by phone at WHSS & OSCVI Ext: 300, or use  the suggestion boxes at the front offices OSCVI & WHSS

Students at both schools will have the opportunity for input in classes next week.

The board plans to close Derby Public School in Kilsyth as of June 30th and re-locate those students to Arran Tara Elementary School, Hillcrest Elementary School and Hepworth Central Public School in September.

In June 2017, Bayview Public School and Sydenham Community School will close-- with those students moving to the renovated OSCVI.

Dufferin Elementary School students will also be re-located to Hillcrest Elementary School and Keppel-Sarawak Elementary School in September 2017.
