Fiery Crash Seriously Injures Driver

A woman was airlifted to London hospital after being seriously hurt in a fiery collision on Highway 86 near Dorking.

Wellington OPP say police, Perth EMS and Mapleton Fire Rescue were called to the intersection of Highway 86 at Perth Road 124 around 1:50 a.m.

A 2014 Mazda had collided with a tractor trailer. Police say the women driving the car was pulled from the vehicle by passerby before both vehicles burst into flames.

She was taken to local hospital and then airlifted to London. The driver of the tractor trailer was not hurt.

Police say the roadway suffered significant damage from the collision and fire and will be closed until it can be repaired.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
