Mayor Tyler Hessel explains Canada Post has been paying $1 a year for the use of the building. But it costs $2,600 a year for cleaning and maintenance. Council felt it was time to increase the rent to at least recover some of those costs.
Bluewater wants a five-year lease at $200 per month from Canada Post for use of the building on Main St.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
