Perth East Man Killed in Road Construction Incident Near Sebringville

Provincial Police along with the Ontario Ministry of Labour and the Coroner are investigating after a Perth County road construction worker was killed yesterday (Friday, June 10th 2016) south of Sebringville.

Police say the driver of a construction vehicle with a water tank was struck by the vehicle at Line 32 and Road 134 around the noon hour.

The truck then struck a hydro pole downing one of the power lines which landed on the road near the driver.

54-year-old Murray Hyde of Perth East was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The cause remains under investigation.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
