North Stars in Third after Weekend Loss

The Owen Sound North Stars remain in third place in the Senior B Lacrosse standings after the weekend.

Owen Sound gave up a 7-5 decision to the league-leading Six Nations Rivermen on Friday.

The North Stars were led by Scott Derancesco who scored and added two assists; and by Zach Thompson with three assists.

The Rivermen's top scorer was Roger Vyse with two goals and two assists.

On Saturday the Rivermen defeated the Ennismore James Gang 10-9 and are now 10-1 on the season. Owen Sound is at 5-5 behind the 7-2 Brooklin Merchants.

Owen Sound is back in action Saturday, June 18th against the second ranked  Merchants.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
